Embora os resumos sobre a situação geográfica, a História Natural e as populações indígenas e negras sejam de pouco valor em face dos trabalhos de Marcgraf e Piso, a obra de Mieuhoff é especialmente rico e valiosa para o estudo do período de 1640 a 1649", como afirma Borba de Moraes.A edição inglesa foi traduzida do original holandês e, segundo o Borba de Moraes, contém 'um acúmulo de erros e omissões".SYS-184874London : H.
