The so-called strategy of political confrontation has been defined as a conscious search for the
vote of the median voter, fleeing from the classic agenda items located in the left-right axis, the slant of the
twitching of public debate. In this article it is argued that such a strategy, although it can yield positive
results in the short term, have unexpected effects in the future, favoring scenarios disaffection and
uncertainty. The question of the suitability of this strategy will be evaluated through the employment made
by Aécio Neves presidential candidate in the current context of economic and political crisis in Brazil. |
