It intends to correlate the Brazilian governance model with the open list system to understand the main negative consequences between the two institutes. It is noted that the electoral
legislation imposes a significant number of electoral obligations to the candidate which results in the increase of the inspection from the electoral agencies and the judicialization of the elections. Afterwards, a quantitative study is carried out on the potential increase in processes distributed in the Electoral Court and its relationship with the so-called third round of the elections. Finally the study intends to suggest some directions for electoral reform. |
