The work aims to point out the need to identify the principle of jurisdiction (and international competence) and present its main controversies in the field of international legal cooperation. Issues related to the implementation of international standards on jurisdiction, to central authorities and liaison judges, among others, have proven to be fundamental to a more adequate understanding of jurisdictional matters from the perspective of international legal cooperation. The specific study will address the Hague Convention's approach to the civil aspects of international kidnapping of children related to the "custody right" theme under Family Law.
